Anwar Tarabay is a senior computer science student at the Lebanese American University and will be serving this year as the Secretary General for the 9th LAU Model Arab League. He has been actively involved in the program even before joining LAU as a student volunteer and then evolved to become a logistics coordinator in both MAL and MUN until he became the Director of Operations and Logistics in the 7th LAU MAL and the Deputy Secretary-General in the 8th LAU MAL. Recently, Anwar has been admitted as a senior logistics fellow in the Fellowship Program under the Outreach and Civic Engagement (OCE) Department. Since 2016 Anwar has been part of five Global Classroom International Model United Nations Conference as a logistics coordinator and the Under Secretary-General of Logistics in the 2019 High School GCIMUN Conference. Also, he has participated in two international Global Outreach and Leadership Development conferences in LAU New York. Anwar has never failed to be present his passion to serve in several LAU Offices such as the Outreach and Civic Engagement Unit where he is currently an Administrative Student Assistant working both here in Lebanon and in New York, alongside being active with several LAU offices such as those of the Dean of Student Services, IT, Operations and Hospitality. Outside the university life, Anwar is involved in several activities in the fields of Aviation, Sound Engineering, Event Operations, Networking, and Telecommunication. Anwar also has invested a lot of time to give back to society by working on many projects with the Children Cancer Center, SOS Children’s Village, Al Nawaya Network and Beirut Marathon.
