Racha Doumit is a fourth-year Mechanical Engineering student minoring in Legal Studies and Political Science and International Affairs. She will be serving as the Deputy Secretary-General for this year’s 9th LAU Model Arab League Program. Racha has been actively involved in the local Simulation programs for her four years at the Lebanese American University. She served as a trainer in both GC LAU MUN and LAU MEU for two years. She was then promoted to Assistant Under-Secretary General for Training and Educational Development in the 14th GC LAU MUN. She now humbly serves as Deputy Secretary General for the LAU MAL. Racha also participated in the Global Classroom International conferences in both 2018, as director of the General Assembly First Committee, and 2019, as chairperson of the International Civil Aviation Organization. She also was given the honor to announce the Book of Resolution at the United Nations General Assembly Hall, back in May of 2019. Racha initiated an internal effort in LAU, lead by Vice President Elise Salem, to establish a partnership with the Lebanese Red Cross. Her initiative targets the creation of required First Aid course that would boost the number of certified first-aiders in the Lebanese community. Aside from her involvement in the simulation programs, Racha has been an active scout member in Groupe Champville for ten years now. She has served as Troop Chief for two years and now leads fifty teenage girls. Racha also played the violin for fourteen years. She is currently an active member of the Honna Orchestra, an all-women Orchestra whose mission statement is to promote women in the artistic arena.
